St. John’s church in Cēsis illuminates in coulor of spring

Throughout the weekends of April, it is possible to watch a musical light show in the mood of spring on the facade of St. John's Church in Cēsis. The musical show of light was first shown on Easter weekend. The audiovisual performance is designed as a triumph of light over darkness, celebrating the brightest and most beautiful event of spring. The light story was created by director Laura Čaupale and lighting artist Uldis Skroders.

The performance will be repeated on Fridays and Saturdays, and it will be possible to enjoy it until May 1. As the days get longer and the evenings brighter, the musical show of light will be shown after dark.

In the future show will be demonstrated:

• 09.04. and 10.04. - at 21:00, at 21:30, 22:00 and 22:30;
• 16.04. and 17.04. - 21:30, 22:00 and 22:30
• 23.04. and 24.04. - 22:00 and 22:30;
• 30.04. and 01.05. - at 22:30.

It has already been reported that in year 2020, the two-year restoration works of St. John's Church in Cēsis were completed. Along with the restoration of the facade, the mighty windows of the church have also undergone transformations. The windows have been reconstructed and new stained glass windows have been placed, which supplement the windows in the altar part and in the church area. Spotlights have also been installed to illuminate the church tower.
